Assistant Director

  • Prof. Dulacha is an Associate Professor (Finance) in the School of Business and Economics, Moi University and Head of Academic Department at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies. He joined University Nairobi, Faculty of Commerce for Bachelor of Commercer Degree (1989-1992) and was awarded academic merit postgraduate scholarship to undertake Master of Business Administration (1993-1995) at same institution. He completed his PhD in 2005 at the University of Western Australia, Perth. He taught at the Curtin Business School, Curtin University of Technology, Australia, and served as an adjunct Professor at Curtin Business School, School of Accounting for 2009/2010 academic year. As an adjunct Professor, he actively engaged in collaborative research projects. He has published several research papers in internationally refereed journals. Some of the journal where is has published are: Corporate Governance: An International Review, Journal of Financial Reporting Regulation and Governace, Social and Environmental Accountability Journal, Journal of African and Asian Studies, Journal of Management and Governance and Journal of Money Laundering Control, Journal of property tax administration and assessment among others and book chapters. Prof. Dulacha serves on the Editorial Board of the African Journal of Business Management as Editor.
  • He has co-supervised a number of PhD students and supervised several masters' research students. He has examined several postgraduate theses. Currently, he is external examiner for Curtin University, Australia (Curtin Business School) and Strathmore University, Kenya (Strathmore Business School).
  • Prof. Dulacha joined Central Bank of Kenya in 1996. During his years of service in the Central Bank, he worked in Research, Bank Supervision and Banking Services departments. Between January 2011 and June 2013 on a secondment assignment, Prof. Dulacha served as a Technical Advisor (Research and Policy) at the Commission on Revenue Allocation. In this position he played a lead role in development of the first generation revenue sharing formula and applied in revenue allocation between National and County government. He is also lead advisor in article 204 of the Constitution of Kenya. Prof. Dulacha served as Treasury to the Council of Moi University (2009-2012), and Chairman of Council of Dedan Kimathi University of Technology. He is a member of the Institute of Public Accountants, Australia as well as the Accounting and Finance Associateion of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ). He is also a member of the Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts, Kenya (ICIFA - K) as well as member of Kenya Institute of Management (KIM).
